We offer two mounting options, but a wall-mounted system is most common. The wall-mounted system is our MVP (most versatile product) that leverages the studs of your home as the main source of stability. A wall-mounted system is great for areas like closets and laundry rooms and allows you to retain floor storage and benefit from easier cleanup. Unlike floor-mounted systems, our wall-mounted systems don't require molding alterations or shimming for uneven floors or walls.  

Our floor-mounted system uses the floor as its main source of stability and is secured to the wall in your space. Although less common, we do sometimes recommend it for spaces such as a pantry, entryway, and window bench to create a built-in look.  

The EasyClosets Thermally-Fused Laminate (TFL) panel is a ¾” thick furniture-grade composite board made of hardwood Canadian Chipboard. This is the same material trusted in the commercial and residential furniture industry. 

The laminate exterior of our panel is adhered to the panel surface using a thermo-fused application, a combination of heat and pressure, which makes it scratch resistant. Not only does the panel have a screw-holding capacity, but an 8-foot section can hold up to 1,200 pounds when properly designed, installed, and with the weight evenly distributed across all intersections (please notify your designer if you plan to hang or store anything other than clothing in your closet). Our most common depth for wall-mounted systems is 14" deep, which is the closet industry standard. However, you can also select a 12” depth if desired. Our floor-mounted systems have several depth options, including 12", 14", 19" and 24". The 12” depth is typically only used for shelving in narrow spaces, such as odd-shaped pantries. Your designer will help you determine the best depth for your unique space.

Our Online Design Tool defaults to a wall-mounted system, but you do have the option to switch to a floor-mounted system, following the steps in this tutorial video. Please note that floor-mounted closet systems will require the removal of base trim for installation and the standard top shelf height will increase by 2.75 inches.
